Wyatt and Andrew’s story began in early December 2021. On December 16, 2021, they met for their first date at Bubes Brewery in Mount Joy. The evening started at 5:30 PM, and what was meant to be a casual date quickly turned into a four-hour conversation, filled with easy back-and-forth and a shared sense of humor. They didn’t notice the time pass as they got to know each other, only realizing it when the staff politely let them know it was time to wrap things up. It was a memorable night, one where the connection felt effortless and natural.
However, their story almost took a turn a few days later, on December 20, 2021. Andrew unexpectedly canceled their plans for a second date, leaving Wyatt a little thrown off. In an effort to make the best of things, Wyatt had already baked Christmas cookies and decided to drop them off at Andrew’s place, as he didn't want them to go stale. This gesture, though thoughtful, was met with surprise, and Andrew initially considered blocking Wyatt’s number, interpreting the delivery as too much too soon. Fortunately, the cookies—along with the genuine intention behind them—helped clear the air, and they both agreed to continue seeing each other.
This moment marked the beginning of an ongoing tradition. Every year since, Wyatt and Andrew make Christmas Cookies for local friends and family. They had a new record this year of 43 cookie boxes containing roughly 1,400 cookies, all while watching the Polar Express (Andrew won't help otherwise!).
Wyatt and Andrew have built a collection of unforgettable memories together, each one adding a unique chapter to their story. One of their most memorable moments happened just days before Christmas, when they adopted Radar. Before they took Radar home, they took him to Keystone Pet Place for a much-needed bath. However, he bolted—running off into the neighborhood and across the active train tracks. They spent the next few hours frantically searching for him, running (and falling) through the snow. It was a whirlwind start to their adventure as pet parents, but Radar has been a part of their family ever since.
They’ve also had their fair share of laughs and unexpected twists. Wyatt once took Andrew to Disney World, promising a gentle 3D attraction at EPCOT—Guardians of the Galaxy. Andrew, who’s terrified of roller coasters, soon found out the hard way that the ride was far from gentle, leaving him with a mix of fear and surprise. Another time, Wyatt introduced Andrew to New York City around Christmas. Andrew’s first cab ride through the busy streets of Manhattan nearly had him car sick, and when they finally made it to the Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree, Andrew wasn’t exactly impressed with the "disappointing" sight. Despite the rocky start, their trip became one of many treasured memories.
They’ve also supported each other through some big milestones. Andrew’s graduation from Army Warrant Officer School in Alabama in 2024 was a major highlight for both of them. But it’s not all about grand gestures—they also share plenty of lighter moments, like the time Andrew "accidentally" exploded quick foam cement on Wyatt, leaving Andrew with the task of shaving the cement off Wyatt with an electric shaver—a hilarious and slightly painful reminder of their adventurous spirits.
Some of their favorite memories are tied to traditions they’ve created. Each year, they go strawberry picking together to make fresh jam, and they’ve had many trips kayaking along Hilton Head Island, enjoying the peaceful waters and each other’s company. And when it comes to Christmas decorating, it’s become a full-fledged competition to see who can outdo the other with holiday cheer. With eight different Christmas trees and another one already planned for next year, their love for the season—and for each other—shines brightly.
Through all the excitement and challenges, Wyatt and Andrew’s journey together has been full of love, laughter, and a shared sense of adventure. From Andrew conquering fears on Pike’s Peak in Colorado Springs to Andrew sneaking into Wyatt's homes for surprise celebrations, they continue to build a life full of unexpected moments, joyful traditions, and plenty of stories to tell for years to come.
